I bought a Linksys AC1300 Velop Mesh router the day before yesterday. It is on sale. The original price is $129.99. The “last chance” price tag is $39.99, with a $90 discount. So, I paid $45.32 including tax, etc.
Linksys VELOP whole home Wi-Fi. The one I got is just one device. There is a box with three devices that can cover a big house. For me, I actually just need it to be an Access Point to improve the Wi-Fi signals in my daughter’s room.
Open the box and put everything on the desk.
- The router itself
- A CAT5 cable
- A power adapter
- Setup Guide booklet
- A mini-CD with documentation
The setup needs a smartphone to download the Linksys app.
With the Linksys app (Setup the device as a router):
- See who’s online
- Turn on parental controls
- Check speeds
- View and edit Wi-Fi names and password

So, before this setup, first need to do the normal router setup.
Then, Sign in to Linksys App on the phone.
Tap the three-line menu >> Advanced Settings >> Internet Settings
Change the Connection Type from “Automatic Configuration -DHCP” to “Bridge Mode”
In bridge mode, I can am not able to use parental controls, device prioritization, custom internal IP address, Port settings, Speed check, etc.
Actually, I can not do anything, except setting up the Wi-Fi name and password, Guest Access. That is all I need.
